Barbara Ceptus Schreiber, PhD (she/her/hers) has dedicated her career to understanding and facilitating connections between community building, racial justice, healing, and love in action.
Prior to working at Kindred, Barbara founded Radical Presence, a coaching practice where she works with trauma survivors to reconnect with their bodies in order to live more present and embodied lives. She is a certified Trauma Recovery Coach and experienced facilitator who takes an embodied approach to her work. After moving to California to pursue a doctorate in Cultural Studies, she joined Race Forward to help launch Facing Race, the largest multiracial, inter-generational gathering for organizers, educators, creatives, and other leaders. She later moved to Kenya, where she led research efforts for women and girls educational access in Sub Saharan Africa with the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE).
Barbara earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in Cultural Studies with a designated emphasis in Feminist Theory and Research from the University of California-Davis. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Clinical Psychology and American Studies from Tufts University.
Barbara has lived in more than 10 cities and loves to explore the world around her with her three children and partner.
