Meredith (she/her) became a teacher in 2002 to work toward racial justice through education. She has experience as a practitioner and a leader at the middle and secondary school levels, in the non-profit sector, and in the federal policy arena. Before joining Kindred’s team as the program director, Meredith trained educators in culturally proficient leadership and supported schools in operationalizing equity as part of the Teach To Lead team. At the U.S. Department of Education, she supported the agency’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, including by co-leading both the first-ever Educator Equity Lab and National Summit on Teacher Diversity. Meredith earned her graduate degree in human rights studies, with a focus on racial justice, from Columbia University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism, with minors in literature and theatre, from American University. Meredith hails from Rhode Island but has long considered Washington her home, and she is the proud mom of a young daughter and son.
